Class: Fish Night
Are you confused about fish, what kind(s) to buy, or whether or not it's really healthy? Join us for this class and learn: 1) how to determine which fish to buy (or not) based on mercury and PCB levels as well as if the fish is abundant, well-managed, and caught or farmed in environmentally-friendly ways, 2) what to look for when selecting fish at the grocery or fish store, 3) avoiding cross-contamination when handling fish, and 4) different ways to prepare fish. We’ll feature such entrées as seared sesame-crusted tuna with dipping sauce, spice-rubbed baked catfish with mustard sauce, and fish stew (actually more stew than fish, this is a staple in Okinawa, an island culture which boasts the longest life-expectancy rate in the world!). If the offerings sound like fish overload, don’t worry. We’ll also have vegetable and carbohydrate sources to round out the meal.
